Greek E-Invoicing: Where We Stand
Greece is phasing in mandatory B2B e-invoicing: large companies since 2 March 2026, other businesses from 1 October 2026. Domestic B2B e-invoices must be issued through a provider licensed by the AADE, and that licence requires a Greek establishment. EncryptInvoice holds no such licence, so businesses established in Greece cannot use it for domestic invoicing. What we do is deliver your invoices to Greek customers over PEPPOL when you are established elsewhere.
- PEPPOL delivery of EN 16931 e-invoices to Greek recipients, from issuers established elsewhere
- EN 16931 / UBL 2.1 and PEPPOL BIS 3.0 formatting
- Greek VAT (AFM) format + VIES pre-checks, EL prefix (users confirm AADE records)
- Not an AADE-licensed provider: businesses established in Greece cannot use EncryptInvoice for domestic invoicing

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use EncryptInvoice for my Greek company's invoicing?
No. Domestic B2B e-invoices in Greece must be issued through a provider licensed by the AADE, and that licence requires a Greek establishment. EncryptInvoice does not hold it, so businesses established in Greece cannot use it for domestic invoicing. If you are established elsewhere in Europe and invoice Greek customers, EncryptInvoice delivers those invoices over PEPPOL.
What is myDATA, and does EncryptInvoice report to it?
myDATA is the AADE platform through which invoice and accounting data reaches the Greek tax authority. EncryptInvoice does not report to myDATA and does not relieve anyone of that obligation. It is a platform for issuers established outside Greece sending invoices to Greek customers.
How does AFM / VAT validation work?
We run Greek VAT (AFM) format checks and EU VIES pre-checks, using the EL prefix (EL + 9 digits), to flag issues before you send. Please confirm official AADE records for final accuracy.
Can I invoice clients in other EU countries?
Yes! Through PEPPOL, you can send e-invoices to 27+ European countries, including all EU members. Cross-border format conversion is handled automatically.
